Practical Tips for Families, Singles, and Seniors on a Limited Income
With grocery prices soaring in 2024, saving money at the store has become more important than ever. I’ve come up with some smart strategies that help me stretch my food budget and still get the best value. I’m sharing these tips here to help you save money too.
Grocery prices are higher than they have ever been, and saving money is more important now than ever. According to Yahoo Finance!, prices are 25% higher than the last election year, with the highest costs attributed to meat, dairy, and produce. The highest costs are from eggs (a 50% increase), beef, flour, and sugar (by ⅓ rd) soda, and canned vegetables and fruit.
I feel the pinch every time I go to my local Walmart. The same 5-dozen flat of eggs I used to pay $6.90 for now costs me between $18 and $20, depending on the stock. According to a report by Cornell University, a gallon of milk that used to cost $2.79 is now $4.36 on average.
I’m going to share a few ways I have found to combat the high cost of food and grocery shopping in general. Some of you may already use some of these to save, and if you do, please share any tips that you have found helpful.
