The People Who Made My Days Feel Full
Here’s a list of people I wish I could thank again in person:
The woman who checked my temperature at the pharmacy and helped me find the cold medicine I needed.
The man who helped me use the automatic parking kiosk when it wouldn’t take my foreign card. I’d probably still be stuck in Fenqihu if it weren’t for you.
The host of my homestay in Chiayi was warm and welcoming, and gave me the lay of the land (directions to food and the laundry mat).
The woman who yelled to me from across the street that I was beautiful. It made me feel like the main character.
Chi at Joye Cottage for giving me a tour of the place and fueling my dreams of someday starting my own dye house.
The taxi driver who teased me for mispronouncing the name of my destination. You reminded me of my family. Thank you for also helping me speak to the hosts over the intercom. MVP.
The man at the car rental place who took 30 minutes out of his day to answer all my questions about driving in Taiwan, and of course, for making sure I had a good route planned for my journey.
